December Road Seasons of Love and War Book 2 eBook Brenda Ashworth Barry

I cannot say enough how much I loved this book and love this saga! I've laughed more from this book than any other love story themed book I've ever laid my eyes on. It is MY kind of innocent humor (I have a knack for people falling, in movies I rewind fall scenes over & over & laugh, in this case I read it over & over), and it's rolled it into the sweet, innocent & sentimental tone of the relationship & deep love between the characters.
But the funny parts are not what sells this book. It's meant to be a love story but for me, the little bits of humor were a lovely treat! Beth Ann is so naive, mature jokes or passages have to be explained to her, and I can relate! In my personal life just keeping up with my kids slang is a challenge & they chuckle at me! I know how Beth Ann felt when things went over her head!

December Road Seasons of Love and War Book 2 eBook Brenda Ashworth Barry Reviews

What a great book. Topped "Seasons of Love and War" but you have to read it first top get the full effect of this one. PTSD is no joke and I feel the Author did really good. I felt bad for Kaylob but also glad he made it out of Vietnam. Beth Ann got stuck in a bad situation and didn't know what to do but she did everything she could to help Kaylob heal and get out of her previous situation. Blake irritated me pretty bad with his insistence of Beth Ann coming back to him. But alas Beth Ann and Kaylob got married and made it through. Looking forward to reading her other books.

As much as I loved Seasons of Love and War, December Road left me wanting more. The way Brenda describes their life when Kaylob returns was so real. The conversations and the words used, was like being an interloper. You could feel the pain they were both going through. Watching Blake and feeling what he was going through losing the love of his life was so real. I felt his anguish, anger and pain, but you could also feel the love the felt for Beth Ann. December Road I finished in less than two days as I could not put it down. Having known men like Kaylob, Blake and being a military brat that has lost friends in Vietnam, I so appreciate the insight Brenda has to Kayob and the trails and tribulations, he faces in the real world. The other thing I like and have experienced is that connection with each other. Not just a heart connection, but a soul connection... Knowing that they can call out to each other and hear each other is magical.....I am left with wanting more......
I enjoyed December road from the very first paragraph to the last one that had me so excited to read book #3. From each chapter to the next I couldn't wait to see what was going to happen. The author pulls you into Beth Ann and Kaylob's lives from the first book Seasons of Love and War to December road and beyond. You find yourself wanting to know everything about them. Where they come from and where their going. All the characters make it especially enjoyable. Even suspicion and mystery envelops the story. If you love a wonderful romance with a GREAT storyline, this is the book for you.
I loved book 2 so much! Again I cried, I laughed and I fell in love with the characters all over again. I loved the mystery and danger that is beginning to lurk that is now joining the powerful love, frienship and family. Its difficult to wait for book 3 its so good!!
I enjoyed Ms. Barry's second book even more than her first. There were all the elements that I like in a story. Drama, romance, suspense and also humor. She always left me wanting to pick the story up again. And The cliffhanger had me getting started on book4 so I could continue the saga.
Was anxiously awaiting this next chapter in the lives of Kaylob, Beth Ann, and Blake. I was not disappointed. More than just a beautiful love story. Brenda Ashworth Barry writes with the depth of someone who knows love and loss, fear, pain, and overcoming. And, of course, she leaves us with suspense -and waiting for the next installment of this saga. Beautiful written. Couldn't put it down...
I am single and will never ever find a love like Kaylob and Beth Ann have. I am not one to give away a story, but twice I was reaching for tissues and could not stop crying. I thought nothing would top the first story, but I was so wrong. This is one series that any person with a romantic bone in their body has to read. I am starting book three tomorrow and I can not wait.
