Erika Kelly writes a book in which the Hero, Calix, and his family are fixed in place by a family tragedy - emotionally and physically. The Heroine, Mimi, is also stuck in a cycle, but although she realizes it and thinks she's breaking out of it - she's only taking a different path to the same destination. But on the Mimi's path she meets the Calix, who has been so caught up in his own drama he hadn't noticed her. The sexual chemistry is intense and when they get down to it the sex scenes are primal, fierce, and all-consuming. The passion they feel for each other is extreme and powerful, coming upon them so quickly that it's scary and each handles that fear differently. I really love all of the characters in this book (although I've missed the previous book in this series) and the main characters are head-strong, fun, yet complex. On the other hand - I did want to slap Calix up the side of his thick head a few times. The setting seems almost to be one of the characters itself. The cooking show competition and how Mimi prepares for it is genius on Ms. Kelly's part - part therapy - part wooing - so cute. The family tragedy was truly tragic and traumatic. Guilt runs wide and deep. In order to overcome all of these obstacles, mental and actual, Mimi and Calix's passion and love is wild and relentless as are they.
I really loved "Take Me Home Tonight", except for the 3 day "ear worm" it gave me. I ended up partially reading it twice. I can't tell you how engaging the characters are, main and secondary. The complex storyline makes it difficult to really want to slap the Hero upside the head as early as you want to. Also, Mimi's determination to work with her father is another case in which you want to shake her and tell her to wake up. But the complexity makes it so good and the intense attraction and wild and unfettered sex between the Hero and Heroine makes "Take Me Home Tonight" sooo good. Erika Kelly did an amazing job on this book and I want to read more of the Rock Star Romance series!!!

I love this series. This book's characters (third book of the series) have complicated, unusual backstories and I loved watching them work through their issues. Kelly was masterful in making them real. Great tension, great pacing, great characters.
Absolutely loved this story!! Hero had so much depth and damage, you were pulling for him right from the start. Heroine was charming and realistic, and the conflict kept me glued to my seat.
I hope this series continues because EK is one of the best rock-star writers out there. Very unique and authentic plots and crazy-hot sex scenes!
Wonderful as expected. Read all three in 24 hours. Thank God it was a weekend so I didn't have to work...
This whole series is a must read. When I think the next book can't be as good as the last, Erika Kelly surprises me. I can't wait for the next one.
Loved this installment of the Rock star Romance. Loved "Meems" and her strength , insight and love. I lost my brother and watched my mom go thru similar pain. Th I s book was so true with family trying to fill gaps and grieve. Nicely done love story !
I love Love LOVE! Erika Kelly's books. This was another that did not disappoint... I only wish they came out quicker and she had more to read. She is quickly becoming my favorite new author... I need more!
My favorite genre is also rock star romance, and this one had it all. I adore Calix and his whole family, and Mimi is a great character. I love the whole Blue Fire band and their ladies... I really can't wait for the next one to come out.
Take Me Home Tonight is the third book in this series and I have to say this one is my favorite so far. This one will definitely take you an emotional ride. Calix has a tragedy in his past that has kept him closed off emotionally for the last three years and Mimi has worked hard to please her father so he will hire her. I really loved that Mimi never backed down from what she wanted from Calix and how she pushed him to see things from a different perspective. I loved that Clix just couldn't stay away from her and that he was very vulnerable and was able to show his emotions. I so totally loved this book, it is very well written and I couldn't put it down until I was finished. I am really looking forward to the next book.
